Toys R Us has launched a nationwide closing down Sale after it collapsed into administration on Wednesday.

Prices have been cut initially by up to 25% and all big-name brand products are part of the Sale.

All of the retailer’s 105 stores are still open, but closures may start soon.

Simon Thomas, partner at Moorfields, which has been appointed joint administrator, said: “We’ve introduced heavy discounts across the entire Toys R Us store portfolio today.

“Customers are encouraged to take advantage of these special offers as soon as possible. Whilst stock levels are generally high, customers may find that the more popular brands begin to sell-out over the coming days.”

Website ceased trading

Discounts will not be available online. The Toys R Us website ceased trading on Wednesday.

Toys R Us gift cards and vouchers are being honoured while stores continue to trade.

Moorfields said it was “too early to say” when stores might shut down. “The administrators will manage the store trading strategy while also evaluating the options for the company’s future and determining how to obtain the best possible outcome. It remains to be decided if some or all the stores will be closed.”
