Customers underwhelmed by fashion retailer's winter ranges
Trading has continued to be poor for French Connection. The retailer said in a statement today that the introduction of its winter collection has not improved its current sales trend. Consequently, the board expects figures for the year ending January 31 next year to be significantly below market expectations.

The group's Like-for-like sales in the UK and Europe are down 18 per cent in the three months since August 1, with the winter range failing to attract sufficient consumer interest.

The board expects group profit before tax to be 15 per cent below the last financial year. French Connection said it had taken steps to strengthen its spring range to be introduced into stores next January.
