Fashion retailer's shareholders promised growth this year
French Connection chief executive Steven Marks is due to address shareholders with a positive speech at its AGM today. He expects the retailer to return to growth this financial year.

Marks will tell shareholders that French Connection's experience has been in line with other retailers, which are generally suffering from a very difficult UK trading environment.

However, the improvements French Connection has made to its ranges has had a positive impact on sales, although not as rapid as Marks was looking for.

In a prepared statement, Marks will tell shareholders: 'The effort that has been put in by all our staff to produce the best possible products gives us confidence that we are going in the right direction and that our performance will constitute to improve. We therefore remain hopeful that we can return to growth this financial year.'
