Fashion retailer Fred Perry has taken a unit on Dukes Lane in Brighton to unveil a “Laurel” store, one of two concepts operated by the brand.

Fred Perry retail operations manager Deborah Newing said: “Dukes Lane offers the ideal atmosphere for one of our Laurel shops and Brighton historically has strong roots for Fred Perry.”

Fred Perry operates the Laurel concept at limited locations in the UK, including Seven Dials in London’s Covent Garden and overseas in Tokyo, Osaka, Stockholm and Singapore.

The retailer, which has taken a store of 1,100 sq ft (100 sq m) over two floors, was represented by Michael Peddar & Co, while agent Twentyretail acted for Dukes Lane owners Cheval Properties.

Cheval Properties has recently signed fashion retailers Ted Baker and Ghost to Dukes Lane, which it acquired in 2007.
