Focus DIY has made a series of senior management changes, which include promoting its chief operating officer Rob Gladwin to the position of managing director.

The home improvement retailer has also appointed Peter Brigden as retail director, who will join the business next month.

Brigden has held roles at Asda and most recently Wyevale Garden Centres.

Mark Footman, divisional director for supply Chain and Logistics, will take up the new role of development director reporting to Gladwin, and will be responsible for property, macro and micro merchandising, store design, layout and equipment.

Focus chief executive Bill Grimsey: “As we enter a new phase of our development with the roll out of our new Genesis format to the wider estate and our plans for smaller convenience stores in market towns and urban in fill areas, I am delighted to welcome Peter Brigden as retail director supporting Rob Gladwin in his new position of managing director, along with the appointment of Mark Footman as Development Director.  These new appointments further strengthen the Board of Directors and I look forward to working closely with my new team.”
