JJB Sports and Carpetright ruined
A series of shop fires in Northern Ireland has destroyed a JJB Sports and Carpetright store and left TK Maxx and MFI stores badly damaged.

Dissident republicans are thought to be behind the suspected fire-bomb attacks in Newry, County Down.

The fires started in Carpetright and MFI in the early hours of yesterday morning. Nearby Curry's and B&Q were both saved from the attacks by the fire service.

Approximately 125 firefighters were needed to tackle the blazes, which also saw 20 homes in the area being evacuated.

Local residents and businesses have expressed fears that the attacks could lead to job losses and a downturn in trading in the town.
