Senior Credit Suisse retail analyst Andrew Kasoulis has swapped the City for an investor relations role at Morrisons.

Kasoulis, who had headed Credit Suisse’s food retail equity research team, will join FTSE 100-listed grocer Morrisons in the New Year after leaving the bank last month.

He spent 13 years at Credit Suisse and Thomson Reuters Excel’s annual survey rated him the third-best analyst covering the food retail sector this year, Financial News reported.

Kasoulis’ appointment comes after Morrisons chief executive Dalton Philips vowed to deliver the grocer’s first quarterly sales growth for two years this quarter.

Kantar Worldpanel data seen by Retail Week this week showed Morrisons sales fell 0.7% in the four weeks to December 9.
