Despite a slowdown in sales growth in recent weeks, the future is still bright for Mulberry according to retail’s analyst community.

Philip Dorgan, Panmure Gordon:

“The appetite for Mulberry products shows no abating and management is doing its best to satisfy it with increased production capacity now onstream and a decent opening programme. We believe that the next few years will see the Mulberry brands significantly extend its global reach.”

Nick Bubb, Independent analyst:

“The fast-growing Mulberry had a fantastic year but the outlook is surprisingly cautious, with like-for-like sales only up by 3% in the last 10 weeks, after a poor April and big fall-back in its outlet centre sales. The market won’t like that…”

Simon Chinn, Conlumino:

“The long term prospects remain strong. It has established a good platform to continue to grow its business internationally in response to growing demand for its highly sought after goods. The investment in a second factory in Somerset will double its capacity to produce and reinforce its position as the UK’s largest manufacturer of luxury leather goods.”
