Fashion etailer Asos’ retail sales jumped 59% to £100m in the 3 months to December 31.

UK sales increased 23% to £56.3m while international sales rocketed 156% to £43.7m. Overall, group revenues surged 55% to £104m.

Asos said the retailer’s gross margin remains “in line with guidance”.

Asos chief executive Nick Robertson called the performance “very strong”.

He said growth in the international business was helped by the introduction of its US, French and German websites in October, as well as a free global shipping offer in the run up to Christmas.

International sales now represent 44% of the total up, from 37% in the first half.

Robertson added: “With International sales continuing to perform well, we remain confident about the outlook and expect our full year results to be in line with market expectations”.
