Retail Week looks ahead to the next seven days, with updates from Topps Tiles, Pets at Home, Findel and Eve Sleep on the agenda.

Topps Tiles

The specialist retailer will report its final results on Tuesday, November 28. Topps Tiles’ full-year profits are expected to come in at the lower end of expectations amid “tougher” market conditions.

Topps pushed ahead with its ‘out-specialising the specialists’ strategy over the year but this failed to stem falling revenues. Sales are expected to be 1.6% down after like-for-likes fell 2.9% on the previous year.

Pets at Home

The pets retailer will update the market with its interim results on Tuesday, November 28. Pets at Home managed to achieve a good first-quarter performance after some dismal results in previous periods.

Its performance was boosted by its services division, with overall sales up 18.8% to £40.1m and like-for-likes up 10.5%.

Findel

The home-shopping retailer will report its interim results on Wednesday, November 29. Findel slipped further into the red at its last update, despite hailing an increase in sales.

The online value retail and education business said its pre-tax losses widened to £59.4m in the 53 weeks to March 31, compared with £1.7m the previous year.

Eve Sleep

The mattress-in-a-box retailer will update the market on Wednesday, November 29. Eve Sleep, which floated on the AIM in May, reported mounting pre-tax losses in its first-half, during which sales rocketed 126%.

It made a pre-tax loss of £9.1m, compared with £3.2m in the same period last year, as it invested in international expansion and growing brand awareness.

BRC Shop Price Index

The BRC will publish its Shop Price Index on Wednesday, November 29. Last month, shop prices decreased at their slowest rate in four years, despite food price inflation.

GfK Consumer Confidence Index

GfK will report its Consumer Confidence Index on Thursday, November 30. Consumer confidence declined further in October as concern over the UK economy took its toll on shoppers’ outlook.
