Wesfarmers

The Australian owner of Homebase Bunnings unveils its half year results on Wednesday. Wesfarmers will be looking to build on a solid start to life in the UK.

The group revealed last August that like-for-likes at Homebase jumped 7.5% during the first four months under its new owners, as Wesfarmers tackled the chain’s “poor and confusing” offer.

The business has since stepped up the process of converting the Homebase stores into Bunnings, opening its first warehouse under the new fascia in St Albans earlier this month.

Bunnings’ UK boss PJ Davis plans to convert all Homebase stores within the next three to five years as it bids to make its mark on the British DIY market.
