Retail Week looks ahead to the next seven days with MPs voting on a revised Brexit deal and a quarterly update from SCS on the agenda.

Brexit amendment vote

MPs will vote on any revised Brexit deal and amendments pertaining to it on Tuesday. Parliament will debate the next steps put forward by the prime minister and alternative proposals by lawmakers, including seeking to delay Brexit on March 29 by securing a two-year extension to the Article 50 negotiating period.

ScS

The sofa specialist will report its quarterly update on Thursday. ScS pulled the plug on its House of Fraser concessions in October after orders at the Mike Ashley-owned chain plummeted. At its last update, the retailer said within the core ScS business like-for-like order intake increased by 4.5%. Competitor DFS performed well during its festive quarter as did other home retailers such as Dunelm. Industry observers will be keen to see whether ScS’ continued success will cement the sector’s fightback.
