Tesco’s £16 F&F dress in the style of the one Kate Middleton wore to announce her engagement sold out online in just one hour on Monday.
The dress, a copy of a £349 Issa dress that Middleton wore to announce her engagement to Prince William, went online at 1.30pm and was sold out by 2.30pm.
Tesco said that more stock will be added to the site in the next couple of days, but warned that it is likely extra stock is expected to sell out just as quickly.
Limited stock is still available in selected Tesco stores but the grocer expects to sell out completely by the end of the week.
Tesco buying director Jan Marchant said: “Kate Middleton looked extremely elegant in her choice of outfit and many women wanted to find a high street replica of this now iconic dress. The rate at which the dress sold out online is testament to how influential Kate’s style choices are.”
