Ernest Jones, H Samuel and Leslie Davis owner Signet has reported its UK division suffered a 0.9% fall in like-for-like sales in the third quarter.

Total sales also fell 0.9% to $139.3m in the 13 weeks to November 2.

Signet reported like-for-likes at H Samuel fell 2.2%, while total sales at constant exchange rates fell 1.3% to $73.1m.

Ernest Jones posted a 0.6% increase in third-quarter like-for-like sales while total sales dipped 0.5% to $66.2m.

Signet said: “The number of transactions also increased, while the average transaction value declined, with Ernest Jones impacted from Rolex being offered in fewer stores. Watches were strong in Ernest Jones, excluding Rolex.”

Signet said bridal and diamond sales increased in the third quarter. UK online sales rose 29.4% to $6.6m in the quarter.
