The founder and chief executive of fast fashion etailer PrettyLittleThing has announced it will launch its first homewares range.

Umar Kamani, who created the business in 2012 with brother Adam, made the announcement on Instagram on Sunday morning by posting logo options with the caption “PLT HOME coming soon”.

There is currently no launch date for the range, but this will be the fast-fashion brand’s, and parent company Boohoo’s, first foray into the homewares sector.

The announcement comes after PrettyLittleThing submitted an application to expand its Manchester headquarters by 10,000 square foot.

The project would allow the retailer to take on around 200 more staff members as its company grows.

A PrettyLittleThing spokesperson told Drapers: “Manchester has been home to PrettyLittleThing for seven years. The exceptional growth of the business and our ambitious plans for the future mean that our PLT family is growing fast and we need more space.

“With the help of local architects who have created some exciting plans for us, we hope to increase the size of our current HQ in Ancoats by around 10,000 sq ft. Manchester has become a real magnet for talented young people, who want to work and live in the city and we are delighted to be able to continue to invest in the people and the area. We anticipate these plans will see us increase our team by around 200, taking our overall headcount in the UK to around 600 people.”

PrettyLittleThing was bought out by Boohoo in May in a deal worth more than £300m.
