Ted Baker has entered a licensing agreement to release its lingerie and nightwear collections in partnership with Next.

The Ted Baker range, called B by Ted Baker, will be sold through Next’s online channels and Ted Baker’s own websites.

Under the terms of the three-year agreement, the collections will be created by Next in collaboration with the creative team at Ted Baker.

The partnership will begin once Ted Baker’s previous contract with Debenhams expires and the first range will be released in May.

The lingerie and nightwear range is an extension of Ted Baker’s existing relationship with Next after the two retailers launched a childrenswear collection in the spring.

The deal is the next step in Ted Baker’s transformation plan, which includes the provision for 20 licence partnerships across the globe.

Ted Baker group commercial and business development director Phil Clarke said: ”We are delighted to be signing this licence agreement with Next. We have worked together for many years and know they share our passion for unwavering attention to detail and a firm commitment to quality.

“It is a testament to the global strength of the Ted Baker brand that we partner with the leading experts in their relevant categories. As we continue to rationalise and enhance our product license portfolio, this new partnership is another step in transforming our business and returning Ted Baker to growth.”

Next chief executive Lord Wolfson added: “Next is delighted to be involved in developing the Ted Baker lingerie and nightwear business across the globe, building on our childrenswear collaboration announced last year.

“We have worked with Ted Baker for a number of years through our Label business and we are excited to extend our collaboration with this world-class brand.”

Ted Baker reported “resilient trading” in its most recent results despite the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on occasionwear, as Ray Kelvin returned to the board.
