Online fashion platform Net-a-Porter has launched a new homepage category that identifies sustainable brands on its site for ethically conscious customers.

‘Net Sustain’ includes 26 brands and 500 products matching one or more of the luxury fashion retailer’s ethical and sustainable measures.

The measures include: reducing waste in the supply chain; consideration of human, animal and environmental welfare; aligning with recognised best practices in the fashion industry; and a focus on locally made and artisan items.

Featured brands include collections from Stella McCartney and Mother of Pearl, and jewellery by Chopard.

Global buying director Elizabeth von der Goltz, said: “Our aim is to give a voice to the brands that are truly making positive changes by providing them with a platform to highlight their best practice.

“Our sustainable edit provides our customers with the knowledge they need, understanding that they can trust that these brands have been carefully reviewed and meet our criteria for inclusion.”

Net-a-Porter follows in the footsteps of luxury fashion platform Farfetch, which launched its ‘The Conscious Edit’ in April.
