Marks & Spencer has appointed a former Asos director to be transformation director for fashion, home and beauty.

Marks & Spencer has hired Jag Weatherley for the post, Drapers reported. She was formerly managing director for Europe and the rest of the world at Asos, where she held a number of positions previously.

Weatherley will join Marks & Spencer in January.

Marks & Spencer managing director of fashion, home and beauty John Lyttle said: “Jag’s appointment marks an important next step in completing our fashion, home and beauty leadership team and upping the pace of our transformation.

“Jag brings a brilliant set of expertise as we continue to build momentum and reshape M&S for growth.”

Weatherley’s appointment follows that of Jon Rolls as commercial and operations director of fashion, home and beauty.

Marks & Spencer’s apparel division has been performing well – sales rose 3.5% last year – but the business was affected by a cyber-attack which resulted in it being unable to sell its clothes online for some months earlier this year.
