Marks & Spencer is to extend its opening hours from today until Christmas Eve with 242 of its stores across the UK and Ireland open until 10pm or later and 23 of these staying open until midnight.

The retailer has also said that 135 of its stores at BP Connect petrol stations will be open on Christmas Day and 98 full-line stores will be open on Boxing Day.

In addition, 31 M&S Outlet stores and 43 M&S Simply Food franchise stores in airports, motorway services and railway stations will be open. All other M&S stores will open on December 27.

M&S has also said that for online orders for standard delivery can be placed until 6pm on December 21 and orders for “Nominated Day Delivery”, on Decenber 23 or 24m, can made up to 7pm on December 22.
