High & Mighty has been sold to JD Williams & Company, part of the N Brown Group, as part of a pre-pack administration.

Administrators for the outsize menswear chain PricewaterhouseCoopers said the sale of parts of the High & Mighty business to N Brown will preserve 101 jobs and 14 of the 22 retail outlets in the UK.

PricewaterhouseCoopers administrator and director David Bennett said: “High and Mighty has a long history as a clothing retailer in the UK however, it has recently been experiencing difficult trading conditions. As a result of this, the shareholders and directors have been exploring options to try and rescue the business. This has necessitated the company seeking the protection of administration.

“The administrators are pleased to be able to announce that they have secured the sale of a significant portion of the business of High & Mighty Limited to J.D. Williams & Company Limited. This should provide stability for customers, suppliers and employees alike and means the High & Mighty brand will continue to exist on the UK high street.”

High & Mighty, based in Newbury, had 126 employees and 4 directors in the UK. It traded from 22 stores in the UK and 5 franchises in Europe and the Middle East. 14 of the UK stores will be continued by J.D.Williams & Company Limited, as listed below:
