Canadian label Garage is set to open its fourth location in the UK as it continues its regional expansion.

The fashion retailer has secured a 4,221sq ft space in Lakeside shopping centre, Essex, which will open later this year.

The store will stock the brand’s signature mix of “off-duty essentials” and active lifestyle pieces.

Garage opened its debut UK store in Bluewater Shopping Centre in March, followed by a flagship on London’s Oxford Street the following fortnight. It will open its third store in Manchester’s Arndale Centre later this month.

The brand is understood to be targeting around a dozen sites nationwide as it looks to build a footprint outside of North America.

Garage global real estate and store development vice president Romina Kolodziejska said: “Since launching our first UK location to a strong reception, we are focused on further establishing Garage in key retail destinations as we continue to grow our footprint across the market.

“Opening our first store in Essex marks an exciting milestone in this journey, strengthening our presence in one of the country’s most dynamic and accessible regions.

“Lakeside benefits from a broad and well-established catchment, where the Garage experience is set to resonate strongly.”

Robert Jewell, managing director of asset management at Pradera, added: “Lakeside remains the natural choice for brands entering the UK retail market, due to its established reputation as a leading super regional destination.

Garage’s signing reflects both the strength of the scheme and quality of the brands represented. Its arrival will further broaden the retail mix, adding another globally recognised name to an already compelling line-up, while enhancing the depth and diversity that continues to distinguish Lakeside from competing destinations.”
