Ex-Boohoo chief exexutive John Lyttle left the retailer amid concerns over stalking and “corporate espionage” made by various executives.
Lyttle, who resigned from Boohoo after a five-year tenure in October, is thought to have flagged those concerns among reasons for his exit, The Times reported.
The detail emerged following news yesterday that police in Manchester and Kent are investigating reports of stalking offences targeting Boohoo founder Mahmud Kamani and Dan Finley, who has succeeded Lyttle as Boohoo boss as well as Lyttle himself.
The three maintain they have been followed over the past few months by men on public transport and in public in London, Kent and Manchester. They also say they have been watched by people outside their homes.
Kamani has said that he was assaulted by one person, and Lyttle claims to have come across two men at his home. Boohoo has also reported the discovery of surveillance equipment outside its Manchester head office last month, illicitly recording staff arriving and leaving.
The identity of the suspects is not known and no arrests have yet been made. Greater Manchester and Kent police have said that an investigation into the allegations is continuing.
