Marks & Spencer boss Marc Bolland is preparing for the next phase of the retailer’s reorganisation, when his focus is likely to be on the clothing division.

Changes are expected including the appointment of brand managers to oversee Marks & Spencer’s private labels which include Indigo, Autograph and Per Una the Financial Times reported.

Bolland has already decided to jettison the Portfolio range and intends to turn the remainder from “labels to brands”.

News of the likely changes came as the retailer readies its budget for the next financial year, beginning on April 1 and prompted renewed speculation about the make-up of Marks & Spencer’s top management team.

People familiar with the situation played down the prospect of sweeping change however and said the normal budgeting process was being followed.
