Bhs is trialling a Barratts and Priceless shoe offer as it starts to implement a brand-led strategy across the Arcadia Group’s department stores.

Barratts, which already sells in Bhs under the Dorothy Perkins brand, will trial concessions within some stores under its Barratts and Priceless brand names.

Bhs has been ramping up its branded offer and has been utilising space in stores for other Arcadia-owned brands, including Dorothy Perkins, Evans and Wallis.

Last year, Arcadia owner Sir Philip Green said that he believed that incorporating external brands was the future direction for department stores.

In fashion, he said that he would seek to stock other brands, while previously the offer was exclusively own-brand.

A Bhs spokeswoman said: “In addition to our strategy to insert certain Arcadia brands into Bhs stores, we can confirm that we are also trialling footwear concessions within a number of Bhs stores.”
