Asos is set to launch own-brand homewares as it continues to establish itself across new categories.

The etailer, which currently sells a small number of third-party homeware products within its gifting section, is recruiting for a homeware designer to work on “exciting new Asos Homeware collections”.

The collection is expected to launch next year. In the meantime, Asos will be ramping up the number of homeware brands and products it sells.

The move into homewares comes after Asos – which has already established itself as a dominant force in young fashion – moved into beauty late last year and sportswear earlier this year.

The etailer’s sales skyrocketed at its last set of results, jumping 30% to £808.4m in the 20 weeks to December 31.

Its performance was spurred by a 23% rise in UK sales to £300.9m. The online retailer’s international division also delivered, with sales up 24% in the US, 42% in Europe and 34% across the rest of the world.
