Luxury British heritage brand Aquascutum has signed a deal with manufacturer TPD Luxury Solutions to develop the first Aquascutum Golf collection.

The collection will launch for spring 11 and will comprise men’s and womenswear. It will feature polo shirts, knitwear in fine gauge cottons and cashmeres with the Aquascutum signature check, as well as outerwear with waterproofing technology.Wholesale prices will range from £23 to £110.

TPD Luxury Solutions previously developed the Burberry Golf collection under licence but no longer works with the company.

The Aquascutum Golf collection will have a main palette of navy, ochre and white with flashes of sky blue. Classic sports colours of black, red and grey will be highlighted with pastel shades of pink, green and orange.

Professional golfer Adam Scott will be the brand ambassador for the collection and will preview it by wearing select pieces during the US Open golfing tournament, which starts on Thursday.

Aquascutum chief executive Belinda Earl said: “The launch of the Aquascutum Golf Collection marks a new and exciting phase in the development of the brand. In terms of product, it sits alongside our main collections perfectly while giving us the opportunity to speak to a new type of customer.

“The technically innovative outerwear also reflects our original brand mission – to protect from the inclement British climate, now both on and off the course.”

TPD Luxury Solutions chief executive Tim Dally said: “We have the perfect combination, our team’s comprehensive experience in the luxury golf industry, Aquascutum’s heritage as the classic British luxury ready-to-wear fashion brand and the exclusive endorsement of Adam Scott.”
