Monsoon Accessorize, New Look and Faith are among the latest retailers to donate their old IT systems to developing countries.

The fashion trio donated the equipment through Computer Aid International and they are able to monitor where their kit has been sent using an enhanced asset-tracking service.

Computer Aid International PC donations manager Anja Ffrench explained: “Monsoon donated 25 monitors in November last year, which have been sent to schools in Chile.

“New Look donated 54 monitors in December last year. These were sent with base units to Angkor Hospital for Children in Cambodia and are used to educate children while in hospital.”

The UK charity refurbishes PCs and passes them to organisations such as schools and hospitals in the not-for-profit sector in more than 100 countries. As part of the service, donors receive free guaranteed data destruction from Blancco.
