Electricals retailer Dixons is recruiting 3,000 seasonal staff to work across the group this Christmas.

The retailer has created part and full-time roles to support its stores, delivery and installation services. Dixons said some of the roles could become permanent in the New Year.

Around 2,500 jobs will be available at Currys and PC World stores in the UK while 600 roles will be based in the Knowhow hub which handles delivery, installation and repairs at the retailer. A further 40 positions will be based in Knowhow’s contact centre in Sheffield.

In the busiest time of the year for the retailer, new recruits will help give advice and support to customers looking to buy electricals from its range including as iPads, televisions, headphones and coffee machines.

Dixons Retail head of resourcing Bridget Hutchison said: “We’re looking for people with a passion for retail and an even greater passion for helping customers and working in a team environment.”
