Edinburgh Woollen Mill is reported to be “close” to a deal for womenswear chain Jane Norman, which went into administration yesterday (June 27).
According to the Financial Times, the chain said on Monday evening that it was close to acquiring the brand, its website and around 30 of its UK high street stores.
If that deal goes ahead, it is understood administrator Zolfo Cooper would run a further 24 stores for a period of time while Edinburgh Woollen Mill decides if it wants them. The company does not intend to take its 80-strong head office staff, buyers or design team.
The newspaper adds that Debenhams remains in talks over stock held in its 90 Jane Norman concessions although it believes it is no longer in talks over the brand.
