Director sought in Fortnum & Mason reshuffle

Department store business Fortnum & Mason is searching for a director of food at the famous Piccadilly store.

The new position is part of the restructure of the department's buying directorate, and the appointee will be charged with driving sales and developing the eclectic own-label food brand. Merchandise manager Jim Corfield is moving to grocery, tea and coffee buyer.

Separately, Fortnum & Mason will take luxury to its zenith this Christmas with the launch of bespoke hampers.

The 300-year-old retailer's traditional hamper service, which can cost up to£1,000, now offers epicures the chance to fine-tune the selection to suit their tastes.
