Director of channels, Clarks UK & Ireland

Richard Houlton came to our attention in his role as head of multichannel retail at Clarks, where he has done a great job since 2007 in developing the retailer’s online and multichannel offer.

Clarks sells adult shoes online for home delivery, and also offers click and collect for adult and kids’ shoes. Its multichannel offer has tapped into the heritage of the brand, allowing parents to choose and order shoes for their children online, but insisting that they come into store so the children’s feet can be measured and the shoes fit correctly.

In October, he was promoted to director of channels for the UK and Irish business, and is now accoutable for the retail, franchise, wholesale, multichannel and online businesses in the UK.
