No longer the new kid on the block, ecommerce has become such a part of everyday life that it’s hard to imagine a time when we didn’t shop online. And as it continues to mature, we’re now making way for its younger go-getting sibling: m-commerce.
Smartphones have literally enabled shoppers to carry the internet with them wherever they go, opening up a whole new dimension of retail experiences. 38% of mobile users already shop on their phones when they’re away from their computers. And that figure is sure to grow. In 2010, UK consumers spent £266m on their mobiles and Forrester expects this to reach £2.57bn by 2016.
Over 1 million PayPal customers in the UK already shop on their mobile phones and we’re proud to be working with brands looking to embrace m-commerce and extend their reach through mobile.
