Iconic department store Selfridges has taken advantage of the popularity of the Mr Selfridge TV series by opening a bar dedicated to its founder Harry Gordon Selfridge.
The Harry Gordon’s cocktail bar is located in the department store retailer’s wine and cigar shop, which opened last week. It has been created by bar guru Ryan Chetiyawardana and designed with a London theme.
The TV series about the store’s founder Harry Gordon Selfridge called Mr Selfridge ran on ITV premiered in January this year.
Featuring Jeremy Piven as Harry Selfridge, the series was well-received, averaging 8.5 million viewers per episode and a second series has been commissioned.
Among others, the bar will sell the 1909 Smash cocktail and 1909 IPA, to commemorate the year Selfridges opened. The bar will also exclusively stock Craft London beers on tap.
