Selfridges’ group finance director John Edgar has jumped ship to join rival Harrods.

Edgar, who has been at Selfridges for nearly four years, was previously finance director of Woolworths.

He takes over from Benedict Smith, who had been at Harrods for six years, as chief financial officer.

Selfridges’ managing director Paul Kelly said: “We thank John for his contribution and wish him well in the future.”
