The retail weather forecast from Saturday January 18 to Friday January 24, 2020

The week last year

Cold with a wintry mix to begin the week. Warmer, showery weather sets up by the end.

The week this year

The weekend and early working week will be warmer than last year and normal, but it will cool slightly later.

There will be a few showers in Scotland while the rest of the country is dry.

By the end of the week, it will be close to normal and a touch cooler than last year. Rain is expected during the second half of the week with heavy accumulation possible on Friday.

Mindset

Temperature comparisons and rainfall will give a small boost to demand for outerwear and help final winter clearance. Still too cool to drive early spring demand.
