The retail weather forecast from Saturday November 23 to Friday November 29, 2019
The week last year
Up-and-down temperatures early but Storm Diana bought heavy rain, wind and warmer conditions later.
The week this year
The strong comparisons will come skidding to a halt for the beginning of the week.
Temperatures are expected to warm to above last year and normal again. Comparisons will turn a bit colder against last week from midweek onwards, mainly due to November 2018 being much warmer at the end of the month.
We will continue to see periods of rain, which will exacerbate flooding in some areas. Rain may equal or surpass what Storm Diana delivered last year, but there will be no high winds to contend with.
Mindset
Weather-driven demand will stall this week in milder conditions but early Christmas shopping starts to become more of a driver of sales at this point in the season.
