The retail weather forecast from Saturday September 14 to Friday September 20, 2019
The week last year
Storms Ali and Bronagh brought heavy rain and high winds, but temperatures stayed warm until near the end of the week.
The week this year
Temperatures will be seasonable on Saturday but warm up against normal for the rest of the period. The weekend and much of next week will be near to cooler than last year.
The end of the week will trend warmer than last year for most of the country, but the Southeast will still lag last year. Expect a very dry week, a major departure from last year, which had early season storms Ali and Bronagh to contend with.
Mindset
Temperature comparables will do little to drive demand for autumn products, but the much drier conditions will be positive for footfall and also get consumers outdoors for autumn gardening and maintenance tasks.
