Electricals retailer Currys has signed up former Arsenal and England goalkeeper David Seaman to join Linda Barker in its latest ad campaign. The push launches from April 29 in-store and on TV from May 6. Aimed at sports enthusiasts, the campaign is designed to boost sales of TVs and home entertainment systems in the run up to the Euro 2004 football championships and the Athens Olympics. It will also plug the fact that many Euro 2004 matches will be shown on the ITV2 digital channel this summer, in an effort to encourage more football fans to adopt the new technology. The Government aims for a switchover from analogue TV to digital to be completed by 2010.
