Kingfisher chairman set to leave food group after 20 years
Kingfisher chairman Sir Francis Mackay is to step down from his chairmanship role at food services company Compass. Mackay will stand down in February next year, the company said. However, it denied that his departure is linked to present business problems. Compass has issued two profits warnings since September.

Mackay joined Compass in 1986, moving from chief executive to chairman in 1999.

Compass said: 'Since the start of the year, the board has been discussing an orderly succession process. In-line with that plan, a formal search for a new chairman has commenced.'
