Collinge heads merged Borders marketing task

Borders UK is creating a single marketing department encompassing the eponymous chain and Books etc.

From July, Borders merchandise and marketing director Louise Collinge will take overall responsibility for marketing in both divisions.

Managing director Philip Downer said the new structure will bring the marketing department in line with the rest of the business.Only operations will maintain distinct divisions in recognition of the differences between the two formats.

Monsoon's former head of finance for UK and Ireland Sara Halton joins Borders on Monday, replacing finance director Russell Barclay.

Borders has recently opened its 21st store in Swindon.
