After the opening of the first of its new stores, Clintons last week launched a brand new website that focuses on personalisation.

The retailer has finally taken a leaf out of greetings card etailer Moonpig’s book and concentrated on personalisation. The website offers customers a full service for personalised cards, allowing them to upload text and photos to feature on their cards.

The website makes use of augmented reality technology with its ‘Another Reality’ feature. This allows card recipients to hold their card in front of a webcam and see themselves in an animation. Not only does this give shoppers in-store more incentive to buy the cards – this feature is marketed via the in-store kiosks – it also drives new customers to the website. 

Like Moonpig, Clintons also offers a reminder service that allows the retailer to email customers a few days before important events. This is a great tool that will tie customers in to the brand and get them in the habit of buying cards online.
