Birthdays gets new MD too
Clinton Cards, the UK's largest specialist greetings cards retailer, has announced like-for-sales up by 1.8 per cent for the five weeks to Christmas Eve as shoppers spread their Christmas cheer by post.

The update does not include Birthdays, the rival chain purchased from Tom Hunter and Chris Gorman on December 6, 2004 but the company said trading at the stores had been in line with expectations.

Clinton Cards has also announced the appointment of Stuart McKay, formerly deputy chief executive at UK Greetings, as managing director of Birthdays.
