Claire’s Accessories is to ramp up its expansion in Germany, and has set a target of opening 30 stores there next year.

The US fashion accessories retailer has appointed CBRE to advise on expanding in the country, where it already has 19 stores. The move is part of the retailer’s expansion into Europe, where it wants to open 100 stores next year.

A spokesman for Claire’s said: “We are pleased to be working with CBRE on our German expansion and see the team as playing a vital role in helping us expand our portfolio in this market.”

Claire’s has stores in German cities such as Berlin, Nuremberg, Cologne, and Dusseldorf.

CBRE head of retail in Germany Karsten Burbach said: “Our aim is to locate Claire’s Accessories stores in the leading retail destinations in Germany, specifically within busy commercial centres of large and middle-sized cities and leading shopping centres.”

Claire’s trades from 900 stores in 10 countries throughout Europe. The retailer is finalising plans to further expand in its existing locations, while also reviewing opportunities in new markets.
