Watch: M&S encourages families to ‘go jumpers’ this Christmas

M&S Xmas ad 2019

Marks & Spencer has unveiled its Christmas advert with a focus on knitwear as it gets set to sell 5 million jumpers this festive season.

The advert – directed by Jake Nava, who directed Beyoncé’s Single Ladies music video – features people putting on their Christmas jumpers and dancing to House of Pain’s track Jump Around.

The 60-second ad is in line with M&S’ clothing strategy to broaden its appeal to the whole family – even the dog, which can be seen wearing its own Christmas jumper.

During the casting process, M&S staff were encouraged to audition. Monique Joseph, café manager from its Marble Arch store, was selected and can be seen dancing throughout the video.
