Tesco has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the shopping experience with a series of Christmas TV adverts featuring various ‘little helps.’

The first two festive adverts, which hit screens tonight, will highlight Tesco’s depth of range, from its Finest premium lines to its Free From products.

Adverts released in the coming weeks will feature Tesco’s new party food range and the role of its staff as the grocer hammers home the improvements boss Dave Lewis has made to customer service levels.

Tesco has again turned to Gavin and Stacey actress Ruth Jones to play mum Jo and The Armstrong & Miller Show star Ben Miller to play dad Roger in the adverts. Will Close will again play their son, Freddie, as the fictional family who helped launch the grocer’s Brand Guarantee initiative returns to spearhead its festive campaign.

Tesco brand director Michelle McEttrick said: “Christmas is a special time of year for many of our customers, so we’ll be making sure we do all we can to help them spend more time with friends and family over the festive season.

“Whether that’s great customer service from colleagues in store, our delicious party food that’s been developed to allow customers to spend more time with their guests and less time in the kitchen or our award-winning Free From food range, we’ll have everything covered this Christmas.”

Tesco’s grocery rivals Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose, Aldi and Lidl have already launched their Christmas campaigns.
