Burberry has launched its first Christmas television advertising campaign, a short film starring 12-year-old Romeo Beckham.
The film has been directed by Burberry chief creative and chief executive officer Christopher Bailey and features Beckham on a âmagical gifting journeyâ travelling through a world of âBritishness, heritage, music and weatherâ.
The ad premiered last night at the retailerâs flagship Regent Street store in an auditorium designed by Bailey.
Guests included Romeoâs parents Victoria and David Beckham, musicians Sophie Ellis Bextor and Richard Jones, and Burberry models Sam Rollinson and Amanda Berry.
British songwriter Ed Harcourt wrote the backing track for the âFrom London with Loveâ advert and the track will be available to pre-order from iTunes today ahead of its official release in December.
Burberryâs Christmas campaign launches tonight on TV and will also run across outdoor advertising, cinema, and all of Burberryâs 10 global social media platforms for the next three months.
The retailer has run Christmas ad campaigns previously, but this is the first time it has run a Christmas TV ad.
Last year Burberry launched an online film that showed London covered in snow and set to Tom Odellâs âHold Meâ track. .
The campaign was supported by â25 days of Christmasâ activity, which involved publishing images and videos on Instagram each day.
