Foreign companies told to unionise
Foreign retailers in China have been threatened with legal action if they do not acknowledge trade unions at their Chinese divisions.

The Communist Party-controlled All China Federation of Trade Unions has 123 million members and is reported in local press to have singled out Wal-Mart, Dell, Samsung and Kodak in particular.

The move is reported to be an attempt to increase trade union membership and gain influence in key foreign businesses.
