Vice-president poached from Liz Claiborne
Angela Ahrendts is to replace Burberry chief executive Rose Marie Bravo, it was revealed today.
Ahrendts will join on January 9 from US fashion brand Liz Claiborne, where she is executive vice-president. Ahrendts will be an executive director and become chief executive on July 1. Bravo will assume the newly created role of vice-chairman.
Burberry Group chairman John Peace said: 'Over the past eight years, Rose Marie Bravo has led Burberry through an extraordinary transformation, while achieving excellent financial results. Angela Ahrendts brings diverse industry experience, strong leadership skills, strategic vision and proven brand management to the chief executive position.'
