Brompton Estates, which took a large slice of Brompton Road in west London from the Wellcome Trust in October last year, has launched its strategy to turn the area into a retail destination. It aims to rebrand the area Brompton Quarter.

It has already agreed a number of lettings on the pitch between Armani and Brompton Cross, which until now has been underserved by mainstream retailers.

Kitchenware brand and culinary school Divertimenti has taken a 5,500 sq ft (510 sq m) flagship at 227/229 Brompton Road to replace its original Brompton Cross store. A 15-year lease has been agreed at£200,000, and the shop will open in spring.

Brompton Quarter encompasses five blocks, stretching over 300m of retail frontage. Occupiers include Patisserie Valerie, Smallbone of Devizes and restaurant Racine.

Retail specialist CWM and leisure specialist David Coffer Lyons, which both worked on St Christopher's Place and Marylebone High Street, are letting agents.

Nelson Bakewell represented Divertimenti.
