Boots revamps Shapers to grow its market share

Boots has repositioned its diet brand Shapers as a 'healthy eating' food range in an effort to take a bigger bite of the£3 billion sandwich market.

The Shapers brand is second only to No 7 in the Boots own-label stable and generates annual sales of£47 million.

The spiced-up range, which includes 43 new or improved sandwich fillings - as well as fresh drinks and dessert options - made its debut in 600 stores on Monday.

Boots was scheduled to update the market today. The analyst consensus for Richard Baker's first Christmas in charge was 3.4 per cent like-for-like growth.
